Privacy policy
The short version: we use what you share to give you your results and your report. We only follow up if you say yes, and we never sell or share your information.

Who we are
Change Accelerator (changeaccelerator.com) is a free change capability assessment run by Emergent LLC, a consulting firm based in Colorado, USA. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Emergent. If you have a question about your information, email jesse@emergentconsultants.com.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us, plus the basic technical information any website receives.
- When you visit. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs things like your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the time. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting.
- When you take the assessment. Your answers, plus a few questions about your role and your organization (such as industry and size). These don't identify you by name.
- When you unlock your full report. Your name, work email, and organization name. You can also choose to share your job title, what prompted you to take the assessment, and when you hope to act on the results.
- Optional inputs. Any figures you enter to estimate value at risk, and any tailoring questions you choose to answer.
- If you invite colleagues. The email addresses you enter, which we use only to send each person an invitation to take the assessment.
How we use it
- To show your results and prepare your report.
- To email your report to you.
- To compare results across organizations. Benchmarks are only ever shown as combined figures and never name a person or an organization.
- To improve the assessment, for example by seeing which questions people find unclear.
- To follow up about your results, but only if you tell us that's okay.
What we don't do
- We don't add you to a mailing list or newsletter unless you ask to join one.
- We don't sell, rent, or trade your information.
- We don't share it with other companies, except service providers that help us run the site (such as web hosting and email delivery). They can only use it to provide those services to us.
- We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Cookies and browser storage
The site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. The assessment may save your progress in your own browser so you can pick up where you left off, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings. We may use basic analytics to count visits and see where people leave the assessment, and we'll look at those numbers only in total.
Where it's stored and how it's protected
Your information is stored with our hosting provider in the United States and is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Access is limited to the people at Emergent who need it to run the assessment and respond to you.
How long we keep it
We keep your contact details and report information for as long as they are useful for the purposes above, or until you ask us to delete them. We may keep assessment answers with your name and contact details removed so they can continue to count toward benchmarks.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also withdraw your permission for follow-up at any time. Just email jesse@emergentconsultants.com and we'll take care of it. Depending on where you live, such as the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Children
Change Accelerator is designed for working professionals and isn't intended for anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
